Overview

Our graduate program offers advanced biochemical knowledge as well as comprehensive research skills provided by our faculties who work on diverse aspects in the field including protein and enzyme technology, biochemical products, gene technology, environmental and bioremediation, plant biochemistry and molecular biology an DNA nanotechnology.

To maintain and develop a research-oriented study, the Biochemistry Department provides various scientific instruments which include the following: FPLC; HPLC; GC; Ultracentrifuge; DNA sequencer; Gel Documentation System; PCR machine; Gene Pulser. The computer room in the department provides facilities for graduate students and staffs in support of research, self-learning and teaching. Many of the important Biochemistry journals and databases can be electronically accessed through Chulalongkorn University network. This provides and indispensable tool for study and research work.

In order to keep pace with the advancement of knowledge, the department has constantly established collaborations with international institutions, private companies and organizations, under various funding sources such as: Royal Golden Jubilee Project, JSPS-NRCT; Research Institution Partnership Grant from Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The cooperation covers research and academic development in the form of training, collaborative research and assistance in research equipment. Various research projects carried out by the department faculties are being supported by funding agencies both in Thailand and abroad.

We offer both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. To learn more about the curricula and programs of study, go to Programs or follow the links below.
